Our History...

Founded in 1915, Dublin Volunteer Fire Company has proudly served Dublin Boro and the surrounding communities for over a century. What began as a small group of volunteers with basic firefighting equipment has evolved into a modern, highly trained emergency response organization. We have remained committed to protecting life and property while adapting to the ever-changing challenges of fire and rescue services.

At the inception of DVFC, we operated with a chemical wagon and water cans donated by the Doylestown Fire Company. By 1920 the first motorized apparatus was purchased and placed inservice until 1930. In 1922 land was purchased on Maple Ave near the center of town and our twelve members voted to construct a 35'x75' concrete block building. Over the years the members served the community with new apparatus and equipment, staying on the cutting edge of technology.

In the 1974, our organization received a piece of property at the corner of Ricket Rd and N Main St. The members of the company built a fire station with an attached banquet hall for the community to have a place to gather. In the years following, the department continued to upgrade and utilize state of the art tools and equipment to protect the community. Most recently in 2019, the members voted to purchase a new fire engine, holding 1,000 gallons of water, over 2,000 feet of hose and hundreds of tools for the job. Today the department consists of 7 apparatus, including two Engines, a Rescue, a Ladder, a Tanker and two Brush trucks. The membership of the fire company has grown and contracted over the years and today the community is served by over 20 active firefighters and 10 associate members. We are always looking to add members and offer seven different positions within the department.
Who is DVFC?
Dublin Volunteer Fire Company is a 100% volunteer organization made up of dedicated individuals who live and work in the very communities we serve. Since 1915, we have proudly responded to emergencies in Upper and Central Bucks county areas, providing fire suppression, rescue services, and emergency medical support—day and night, in all conditions. We are neighbors helping neighbors, driven by a shared commitment to protect lives, property, and our way of life.

Our team is made up of more than just firefighters. Within our organization, members can serve in a variety of roles based on their interests, skills, and availability. In addition to interior and exterior firefighters, we have drivers or engineers, emergency medical responders, junior firefighters, fire police, administrative personnel, and fundraising and event support staff. Each role is vital to our success, and together, we form a strong and adaptable team dedicated to public safety and community service.

As a volunteer fire company, we not only respond to emergencies, but we also prioritize fire prevention, community outreach, and education. From visiting schools and hosting open houses to teaching fire safety and supporting local events, we strive to make our presence a positive and proactive force in the community.
